Musicianship Some singers in Cantiones are skilled sight-readers but also some are not.
Cantiones will invite singers into the choir who may have less ability to read music
quickly but whose auditory skills are very good so will diligently learn their part
through listening. However, they are also encouraged to improve their sight-reading
supported by the Cantiones Vocal Coach after joining. Auditions and ‘Voicing’ checks All singers will go through ‘voicing’ checks as necessary to ensure they are singing
comfortably in the right voice (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass). Auditions are held for
singers aspiring to sing solo and/or in small ensembles in concerts.
